2011 I.O.L.I Lace
Contest
Announcing the 2011 lace contest
theme:
"Threads of History"
"Threads of History" should be interpreted as the people, places, and events that
made up the history of the United States.
All entrants must be members of the I.O.L.I. The entry can be
2-D or 3-D. See complete rules for maximum sizes allowed.
No entry may be covered in any manner i.e. no
glass or any type of plastic. The reasons for this: safety of the judges,
ability to view the lace properly, photography, and to minimize possible damage
to the lace. Use color and thread appropriate to your design.
Categories of submission:
Original Lace Design: The entry must be designed
and worked by the entrant. A copy of the original pattern and working
directions must be submitted with the entry.
Technical
Proficiency: The entry must be worked completely
by the entrant, but another lace designerŐs pattern may be used. Information
acknowledging the designer and source of the pattern must be provided with the
entry.
All entrants must be members of I.O.L.I.
First right of publication is granted
to the I.O.L.I. Bulletin. Designer of original work will hold the copyright. Only the Bulletin Editor or I.O.L.I. designated
photographer will be permitted to photograph the lace pieces.
