Announcing the 2013 lace contest theme:

"Trails of Lace"

Salt Lake City, Utah's capital and gateway to the state's renowned ski resorts, scenic national parks and recreational areas is the site for our 2013 I.O.L.I. lace convention. Salt Lake is a well-known ski destination, having hosted the 2002 Olympic Winter Games.

The lace contest theme will be "Trails of Lace." This may suggest a hiking, biking or mountain trail, a path, track, or route for which Utah is famous. However, there are numerous ways of depicting trails. This theme is open to creativity to see what the lacer will produce.

Some of the top draws for Salt Lake City: The Historic Temple Square, Great Salt Lake, Skiing and Snowboarding, The Geneology/Family History Center, Utah Jazz Basketball, Bonneville Salt Flats, Capital Theatre, Kennecott Copper Mine, and City Creek Shopping.
